it was actually better than I expected! It’s definitely less sweet, which was okay for me, but my partner thought it could use a little extra kick. Still, it’s a nice choice if you’re looking to enjoy a festive treat without all the sugar.
Originally hailing from New Orleans, I've had a lot of snowballs in my life.
This pina colada flavor is okay. It's passable. It's notable for not having sugar. But I can't say it's my favorite of the snowball flavors--and as a pina colada it's okay.
We also made pina coladas with them in the blender. We drank them and they were decent, but not our favorite.
I have a friend who comes over that is diabetic, and I never have anything fun on hand to offer that's sugar-free but still sweet, so I decided to try this.
They wanted to try it mixed with some diet lemon-lime soda and a shot of vodka. The syrup, despite being thick and syrupy, pours out fast. It's really quite sweet, and a little went a long way in making a sweet summery drink (prob 1/2 oz). There is a hint of the sucralose aftertaste, but not enough to take away from the pineapple flavor, which was quite nice. Next time, we'll try a rum-based drink (and it is good enough for a next time). I'm sure this is good for the intended snow cone usage for diabetics as well.
Overall, this is a pretty tasty syrup for someone who needs to avoid sugar. It does have artificial color, which it could do without, but that is pretty typical.
Love the pineapple and coconut combo. Great for shaved ice and mocktails!
There's a slight aftertaste that lingers longer than I'd like. It’s good for a guilt-free treat, but I might stick to regular syrup in the future.
